The Basics
The Cactus Rose is a small up-and-coming family owned farm located near the charming community of Valley Mills, deep in the Heart of Texas. We raise farm animals and six tiny humans with nearly equal enthusiasm! Our dream is to expand on time-tested farming and ranching traditions. Everything at the Cactus Rose is produced right here in Texas. From the livestock and feed to the grass and hay. Anything not grown on the ranch is locally sourced from our trusted partners. We know that by partnering with our customers we can continue to build a sustainable model that benefits our family and our community.
Mission
Our goal is very simple. We work together to provide you and your family with a high quality ranching experience. From horseback riding to cattle sales we strive for a level of quality that we are proud to share with our friends and neighbors. Here at the Cactus Rose we believe in excellent customer service and we would be honored by the opportunity to earn your business!

Our Family
As a homeschooling family we try to utilize every opportunity to further our children's education. The Cactus Rose plays a huge part in that. From agriculture and business to plain old hard work, they gain experience and education through every day-to-day activity. We utilize faith-based curriculum as the foundation of our learning program, as well as bible study and church involvement. We believe it is our responsibility to instill a strong work ethic in our children as part of their academic and agricultural foundation. Each one of them is given responsibilities in the home and on the ranch that are tailored to their abilities. From oldest to youngest, there’s something for everyone!
We are a “Work Hard, Play Hard” family and we love the outdoors. We hunt, fish and swim together as often as we can! On any given day you might find our girls out in the pasture working the stock or in the parlor holding “Royal Court.” And yes, sometimes farm chores are completed in full princess attire!
